After Dan Johnson of the Danco Group (and member of the school board for Northern Humboldt Unified High School District) gave a rousing commencement speech at Arcata High School, there were some that felt that he may have plagiarized pieces of his speech from another commencement speech given by David McCullough Jr.
To avoid any further incidents, Savage Henry has gotten an exclusive advance copy of Mr. Johnson’s 2014 commencement speech:
Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’14. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. Four score and seven years ago, I had a dream of a day that will live in infamy, and that you, the graduates have nothing to fear but fear itself. I’ve been to the mountaintop, and all I can say is Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall. I have also learned that we are descended from fearful men, and that I am not a crook. This is our finest hour, and I know not what course that others may take, but for me, give me liberty, or give me death! And so therefore, on this day of graduations, as a free man, I take pride in the pride in the words “Ich bin ein Berliner!”
