La Sera – Queens

I’ll be honest, at first I wasn’t 100% sure about this album.I have come around more to it after a couple goes of it but that might just be this Strawberry Kush doing it’s job. The music itself is catchy and pleasant, the groove definitely makes me tap my toes but I feel like personally there’s a disconnect to really feeling the music. Is it my cup of tea? Yes. Like a cup of tea, it’s nice to listen to, but it really needs an extra kick of whiskey. I need that edge to really want to listen again and again. There are some sick ass guitar solos hidden in there, but I wish all the tracks had the same boldness as their cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” The album’s feel reminds me of those ‘90s jams that seemed slightly afraid to really sit in a deep place.

8 out of 12 cans of PBR!
