Puro Instinct – Autodrama

Andrea Bartunek, contributor

Do you want to feel like you’re in the 80s? Then listen to this album.

Sisters, Piper and Skylar of Puro Instinct have had a humble beginning in LA where most people’s dreams go to die. I think I would like their LP Autodrama more if I was eating molly on a dance floor and transported through time. It kind of felt like Madonna on acid. It’s fun and weird, however, you have to be in the right mood for it. I didn’t know music could be upbeat and mellow at the same time but these ladies have mastered it. There’s only one dance move for this album and I think that is the constant head bop. They use a lot of cool background sounds and voices and they certainly do have a unique perspective but sometimes too much synth.

While Puro Instinct is slightly rebellious and can definitely be the anthem for young city girls, I might be too old for it.

5 out of 12 cans of PBR!
